The Veggies

Still not planted yet. I am waiting for DH to buy me some fencing. However, I think I am going out today to pick some sort of fencing. I grew very impatient. Yes, he will do it, but there is a chance I will be planting these on the ground around June.

The above photos are bought from my local farmers market. None of them are heirlooms. Last year I was able to buy a few heirlooms, but no luck this year.

Indian corns.

Okra, long beans, spinach, & peas.

More of Vegetable Garden

DD holding the longest yard/string/asparagus beans I harvested for dinner. No fertilizer just plain dirt.

Asparagus beans where I harvested the ones above.

This is okra (lady finger), I am letting this mature for my next year seeds.

Some type of squash, I harvested it and taste just like squash with white meat.

My carrots are thriving inspite of weeds growing faster than I can pull it.

More squash picture coming soon...

Update 8/12/10

Pictures are taken 2 weeks ago.

Long/yard beans (sitaw), I actually harvested some today and thinking about making fresh bean adobo.

I thought this one was cantaloupes, it turned out they are pumpkins...:0..lol

Here are my sweet potatoes. I think deers are eating their leaves, there are hooves marks around it.

The okra/lady finger, I found 2 today that I can mix with my adobo. I can't wait for dinner...yummy!!!

Long/Yard Beans (Sitaw)

I am very lucky with my sitaw this year. I already freeze a lot of it already. You can see my process under "Too Much" post In My Kitchen. Right now the greens ones are changing color because we are having some cold nights.

This is my purple sitaw and actually behind it you can see an Albino sitaw. Makes me wonder why they are white well actually its very light yellow green in color. I already have some seed for next year. A lot more than I had this year, and I will be putting patches of vegetable garden along my property too next year.

Spring of 2007

Yard Beans/Long Beans/Sitaw

Corn/Mais

Pumpkin & Cantaloupe

Plum Tomatoes

Okra

I have so much Okra and tomatoes this year. My sitaw, eggplant and bell pepper fruits very little. I had a good harvest with Philippines corns too. They are not very long but they still taste like home. I planted yams/sweet potato/camote and enjoyed the green tops very well. They fruited but it didn't get as big because the cold weather came so fast.

Spring of 2006

My Dad making my garden bigger, getting it ready for 2007. Can you see the gourds, this was my good year for gourd, 2006.
